Back & Shoulders laser hair removal treatment

What This Treatment Covers

This is the largest of our upper body treatments, running from the waistline up across the shoulder blades and out over both shoulders.

The back is difficult to reach and awkward to shave, which makes it one of the areas where laser makes the biggest practical difference to a routine.

Recommended for: Anyone who cannot comfortably reach the area themselves, or who is currently paying for regular back waxing.

Preparation
  • Ensure the treatment area is cleanly shaved 24 hours prior.
  • Avoid the application of deodorants, body oils and moisturiser to the treatment area (24 hours prior).
  • Avoid the application of Vitamin A/Retinol products to the treatment area (1 week prior).
  • Allow 4 weeks prior to your treatment if you have had direct sun exposure (any kind of tanning or active sunbathing, with or without SPF). Allow 2 weeks if you have had incidental sun exposure.
  • Avoid the application of fake tan and tanning products such as self-tanning moisturiser (2 weeks prior).
  • Avoid the use of solariums (4 weeks prior).
  • Avoid skin treatments to the area such as skin needling, chemical peels and resurfacing treatments (2 weeks prior).
  • Avoid the use of tanning drugs (6 months prior).
Aftercare
  • Keep the treated area clean and avoid excessive heat, hot showers, saunas and strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Avoid aggressive exfoliation and skin treatments on the area while it settles.
  • Protect the area from sun exposure and use a suitable SPF.
  • Some temporary redness or warmth is normal and usually settles within a few hours.
For Best Results
  • Use a gentle exfoliant from around 5 days post-treatment to encourage the hair to shed from the follicle and help with ingrown hairs.
  • Keep to the recommended spacing between sessions - hair grows in cycles, and treating on schedule catches follicles in the active phase.
  • Complete the full recommended course. Results build with each session rather than appearing all at once.
  • Shave between sessions if needed, but avoid waxing, plucking or threading the area, which removes the follicle the laser targets.

About Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal directs concentrated light at the hair follicle to reduce its ability to grow, without disrupting the surface of the skin. Because hair grows in cycles, a course of treatments is needed to reach follicles at every stage.

We take your skin and hair type into account before recommending a treatment plan. A brief warm or flicking sensation may be felt during treatment. Downtime is generally minimal, though temporary redness or warmth can occur, and results vary from person to person.

Not sure which treatment is right for you? Book a consultation and we will confirm coverage and the number of sessions recommended.
